How to use the War Room

A screen-by-screen illustrated guide, with pictures & a tappable index.

Getting around

You land on your own ★ Me page. The buttons along the top are: ★ Me (your page), ⌂ Plan (the match plan & search), 💬 (team chat), 🧠 (quiz & polls), 📥 Inbox (notifications) and Log out. Use ‹ Back to return to the previous screen — it remembers exactly where you came from.

The match plan

Tap ⌂ Plan to see the game broken into sections — Soul, Attack, Defence, Kicking, Set-piece, Opposition, Media, Springbok Squad and What-If Session. Tap a tile to open a section, then tap a page to read it. A section only appears once the coaches add content to it (the What-If Session tile is always there). The search bar at the top finds anything fast — type a word from any page, a clip name or a player, then tap a result to jump straight to it.

Documents & video

Team plans, line-outs, images and PDFs open just like a page — scroll to read, pinch to zoom on the pictures. What the coaches upload is exactly what you see, arrows and all. Video clips play right inside the page — just tap play. In a document, tap the gold ‹ Back button at the top to close it.

🎥 Media (opposition footage)

The Media section holds video footage of the opposition’s matches. Tap the Media tile, open a clip and tap play to watch. Use the search bar to find a clip by name.

🏉 Springbok Squad

The Springbok Squad section pulls the team’s own info together for the Test: the Squad List, player Bios and Stats, the Matchday 23 team sheet, the team Battle Rates graph and the live Training GPS. Open a tile to read it. On the Squad List you can’t open other players’ personal details — those stay private — but the Battle Rates and Training GPS cards below are yours to explore.

⚔️ Battle Rates

Under Springbok Squad, Battle Rates shows the whole squad’s work-rate across the 2026 Tests — forwards and backs ranked from hardest-working down. A “battle” is every carry, tackle, breakdown arrival, dominant blast and jackal. You also get your own private ⚔️ My battle rate card on your ★ Me page — tap the heading to open it. Only you and the coaches can see your card.

📍 Training GPS

Under Springbok Squad, Training GPS is a live dashboard of the week’s training loads — total distance, high-speed running, accelerations, top speed and more. Use the picker at the top to see the Test build-up (all the days so far this week added up) or any single day; filter Forwards / Backs or a position, switch the metric, and tap any name to open that player’s card against the group average. The coaches refresh it after each session.

🇦🇲 Opposition

The Opposition section holds the coaches’ notes and clips on who we’re playing. Where there’s an interactive selector (like the All Blacks permutations), tap a name at each position to build a possible opposition line-up and see their profiles — a quick way to picture how they might pick. It’s just for exploring; nothing you tap is saved or shared.

🥊 Battle Rate Challenge: Under Opposition, each row pits a Springbok against the All Black in his jersey. A player’s battle rate is his time between involvements — lower = harder-working. Green means our man wins that position, red means he loses. Tap the ▼ next to any New Zealander to swap in a different NZ player and the colours and the Positions won score update live — a quick way to see where we’re on top and where we have work to do. Nothing you tap is saved or shared.

★ Your page (Me)

Tap ★ Me for your match-day hub: the fixture, the kick-off countdown, the match-day weather for the venue (it refreshes on its own every day as the Test nears — temperature, wind and rain expected at kick-off, so you can see how it’s trending), the day’s schedule, the coaches’ note and the team messages. You pick your position(s) once when you first sign in. Once the matchday 23 is named, a “My goal for this Test” box appears for you to fill in. Tap ✓ I’ve read the match plan so the coaches know you’re across it.

Your details

Tap your initials (top-left) to see and update your own cell number and email. You only ever see your own details — nobody else’s.

Daily wellness

On your ★ Me page, do the quick wellness check each day — a few yes/no taps on how you’re feeling, plus a note if you want. Only answer if something feels off. A red flag goes only to Rassie and the team doctor — never to the rest of the squad. It resets fresh every morning, and each evening around 8pm you’ll get a reminder to fill it in before you sleep.

📋 Training Debrief

On training days a 📋 Training Debrief card appears on your ★ Me page — four quick questions to answer before bed: how you felt at training, your skills execution, whether you know your detail & role in every department, and any new injury, niggle or illness. Tap 🟢 / 🟠 / 🔴 on each, add a line where it asks, then tap Submit debrief. It’s confidential — only Rassie sees your answers. It resets for the next session, and the coaches switch it on the nights they want it.

💬 Claude Rugby — ask anything rugby

On the ⌂ Plan screen there’s a 💬 Claude Rugby tile — tap it to open the rugby assistant. Ask it anything rugby: this week’s opponent, the laws and a ruling, stadiums, travel, records and stats. You can paste text or 📷 a stat sheet for it to read, and tap 🔊 on any answer to hear it read aloud. It sticks to rugby only, and 🗑 clears your own chat.

💬 Team chat

Tap the 💬 button up top to open the team chat for this week’s Test — a group chat everyone can post in. It’s text messages only. Your initials show next to each message, and you can delete your own with the 🗑 Delete button. Keep it sharp and positive.

🧠 Playbook (quiz & polls)

Tap 🧠 in the top bar to answer a quick quiz or poll from the coaches. On a quiz you’ll see straight away if you got it right; a poll just gathers the group’s view — no wrong answer. New here? Start with the “how the app works” quiz. If there’s nothing to answer yet, it’ll say so.

Coaches’ messages

When a coach records or writes an official message it shows under ★ Me in 📢 Team messages. Tap play to listen or watch, then tap 👍 Got it so the coaches can see who’s across it.

Notes on documents & clips

A coach can pin a voice note, video note or typed note to a specific document, image or clip — open the item and you’ll see the note right underneath it. Tap play to listen or watch.

💭 What-If Session

What-If Session has its own tile on the ⌂ Plan screen (it’s always there) and opens straight to the page in one tap. It’s a shared, anonymous list — type any “what if…” scenario or question you want the coaches to work through, e.g. “What if they kick early and pin us in our 22?” and tap + Add to the list. No names are shown, everyone can see the list, and the coaches work through them together in the session.

📥 Inbox & alerts

The first time you open the app, tap 🔔 Turn on match alerts and allow notifications, so your phone buzzes when the coaches post something. The 📥 Inbox button up top is the reliable backup — it collects every new notification you haven’t seen, so open it any time to catch up. It clears once you’ve read them. You control alerts yourself: open the 📥 Inbox any time and use the Match notifications switch at the top to turn them on or off whenever you like — handy if you’re on top of everything and don’t want the buzzes.

💬 Section chats

Every coaching section (Defense, Attack, Kicking Game, Referee, Comms, Opposition and Soul) now has its own chat. Open a section and tap the 💬 next to the heading — a chatroom opens right there and works exactly like the Team Chat, but just for that department. Tap Minimise to close it back to the icon. For Set Phase the chats live inside Scrums and Line Out separately. Everyone gets a notification when someone posts, so please keep each one to its department. The main 💬 Team Chat button up top stays for everything else.

↻ Staying up to date & the buttons

The app updates itself — when the coaches change something you’ll get a small “new version ready” prompt; just tap Update. If anything ever looks stuck or old, tap ↻ Refresh (bottom-left) to pull the latest. The ? Help (bottom-right), ↻ Refresh (bottom-left) and your initials & date (bottom-centre) now sit flush at the very bottom and stay put — they won’t float around on iPhone.

🔒 Keep it in the room

This plan is confidential. Your initials and the date sit at the bottom of every page, and the app blurs when you switch away — so please don’t screenshot or share anything. It’s for the squad only.

You have view-only access — read, watch and listen to everything. Coaches keep it all up to date.

Chapter 1

Getting started

The REP War Room is your private team app for each Test. It holds the match plan, the coaches’ notes and clips, the team chat and more — all in one place, and always up to date. You have view-only access: read, watch and listen to everything; the coaches keep it current.

Three steps to set up

1Open your link. Tap your personal invite link (or scan its QR from the coaches). Pick your position on the welcome screen, then tap ‘Enter the War Room’.
2Add to your home screen. On iPhone tap Share → ‘Add to Home Screen’; on Android use the ‘Install’ prompt. Open it from the icon after that — it runs full-screen and stays logged in.
3Turn on alerts. Tap ‘Turn on match alerts’ and allow notifications so your phone buzzes when the coaches post. You can switch alerts on or off any time in the Inbox (Chapter 9).

GOOD TO KNOW

Your link is yours alone — don’t forward it. New phone? Ask the coaches to re-send your link. The app works on iPhone, iPad and any laptop browser.

Chapter 2

Finding your way around

Every screen has the same bar across the top. These six buttons are how you move around the app. The round badge on the far left shows your initials — tap it to see or edit your own contact details.

The buttons, left to right

1Me — your personal match-day page (the app opens here).
2Plan — the full match plan, broken into sections, with a search bar.
3Chat — the team group chat for this Test.
4Quiz — quick quizzes and polls from the coaches.
5Inbox — your notifications, and the notifications on/off switch.
6Exit — log out.

A ‘Back’ button also appears when you open a page — it returns you to the previous screen.

Chapter 3

Your Me page

Tap Me for your match-day hub. It gathers the fixture, the countdown to kick-off, the latest venue weather, the day’s schedule and the coaches’ messages — all on one screen.

1Fixture, date, venue and referee.
2Countdown to kick-off — days, hours, minutes, seconds.
3Match-day weather for the venue — refreshes on its own every day.
4Team messages — the coaches’ voice notes and typed notes.

Also here: tap ‘✓ I’ve read the match plan’ so the coaches know you’re across it. Once the match-day 23 is named, a ‘My goal for this Test’ box appears for you to fill in. Tap ‘Got it’ on any coach message so they can see who has seen it.

Chapter 4

The match Plan & search

Tap Plan to see the game broken into sections — Attack, Defence, Kicking, Set-piece, Opposition, Media, Springbok Squad, What-If Session and more. Tap a tile to open a section, then tap a page to read it. A section only appears once the coaches add content to it.

1Search the plan — type a word from any page, a clip name or a player, then tap a result to jump straight there.
2Each coloured tile is a section. The number shows how many pages are inside.
3Tap a tile to open it, then tap a page to read.

The What-If Session tile is always there (Chapter 6). Everything you see is exactly what the coaches uploaded.

Chapter 5

Reading content, documents & video

Open a section, then tap a page. Team plans, line-outs, images and full PDF documents open just like a web page — scroll to read, pinch to zoom on the pictures. What the coaches upload is exactly what you see, arrows and all. It’s often best viewed in landscape.

Long documents (like a stats deck) scroll page after page — a heading, a short intro, then each page as a full picture.
Tap any picture to open it full-screen. Use the gold ‘Back’ button at the top to close it.
Video clips play right inside the page — just tap play, and use ‘Full screen’ if you want it big.
The Media section holds opposition match footage; Attack & Defence may hold coach clips.

Springbok Squad

The Springbok Squad section on the Plan screen gathers the team’s own info for the Test. Open a tile to read it — it’s all view-only.

1Squad List, Bios & Stats. The full squad, each player’s short bio and their season stats. You can’t open other players’ personal details — those stay private.
2Matchday 23. The named 23 for the Test — starting XV and bench in jersey order, with age, caps and recent minutes.
3Battle Rates. The whole squad’s work-rate across the 2026 Tests — forwards and backs ranked hardest-working first. A ‘battle’ is every carry, tackle, breakdown arrival, dominant blast and jackal.
4Training GPS. A live, tappable dashboard of the week’s training loads.

Your own Battle Rate

On your ★ Me page you get a private ⚔️ My battle rate card — tap the heading to open it. Only you and the coaches can see your own card.

Using Training GPS

1Pick the view. The top picker toggles the Test build-up (all the days so far this week added up) or any single day.
2Filter. Switch All / Forwards / Backs, choose a position, and pick the metric — distance, high-speed running, top speed and more.
3Tap a name. Opens that player’s card with every metric against the group average.

GOOD TO KNOW

The coaches refresh Training GPS after each session, so the build-up grows through the week and resets for the next Test.

The Opposition

The Opposition section holds the coaches’ notes, dossiers and clips on who we’re playing. Open a tile to read or watch.

Interactive selector

Where the coaches add an interactive selector (like the All Blacks permutations), tap a name at each position to build a possible opposition line-up and open their profiles — a quick way to picture how they might pick.

GOOD TO KNOW

The selector is just for exploring — nothing you tap is saved or shared with anyone.

Chapter 6

What-If Session

What-If Session is its own tile on the Plan screen (it’s always there) and opens straight to the page in one tap. It’s a shared, anonymous list: type any ‘what if…’ scenario or question you want the coaches to work through in the session.

1Type your scenario here — e.g. ‘What if they kick early and pin us in our 22?’
2Tap ‘+ Add to the list’.
3Everyone sees the list — no names are shown — and the coaches work through them together.

It’s anonymous and honest — if something’s on your mind about the game plan, put it in.

Chapter 7

Team Chat

Tap Chat to open the team group chat for this week’s Test — a place everyone can post. It’s text messages only. Your initials show next to each message, and everyone gets a notification when you post. Keep it sharp, positive and relevant to the Test.

Your own messages appear on the right with a ‘You’ tag.
Everyone else’s show on the left with their initials badge.
You can delete your own message with the Delete button.
Type in the box at the bottom and tap the gold send button.

Chapter 8

Quiz & polls

Tap Quiz to answer a quick quiz or poll from the coaches. On a quiz you see straight away if you got it right — the correct answer is highlighted with a ✓ and the other options fade away. A poll just gathers the group’s view, so there’s no wrong answer.

A question you’ve answered locks and shows ✓ Correct or ✗ Not quite.
Un-answered questions show all the options — tap the one you think is right.
New here? Start with the ‘how the app works’ quiz.
If there’s nothing to answer yet, it will tell you.

Chapter 9

Notifications & the Inbox

Tap Inbox to see every notification you haven’t read yet — it’s the reliable backstop if a push is ever delayed. It clears once you’ve seen them. At the very top is your notifications switch.

The Match-notifications switch

Flip it ON to start getting alerts — the app asks your permission the first time.
Flip it OFF any time to stop the buzzes — handy if you’re on top of everything. The Inbox still quietly collects posts, so you can check there whenever you like.
If it’s greyed out and says ‘blocked’, turn notifications back on in your phone Settings → Notifications → REP War Room.

Chapter 10

Daily wellness

On your Me page there’s a quick daily wellness check — a few yes/no taps on how you’re feeling, plus a note if you want to add one. It takes about 30 seconds.

Only flag something if it feels off — a niggle, illness, poor sleep or low mood.
A red flag goes only to Rassie and the team doctor — never to the rest of the squad.
It resets fresh every morning, and each evening around 8pm you’ll get a reminder to fill it in before you sleep.
Your ‘My medical & wellness’ block on the Me page shows your own status (green = fit). You only ever see your own — nobody else’s.

WHY IT MATTERS

The honest 30 seconds every night is how the medical team stays ahead of niggles and keeps you on the park. It’s private, quick, and only reaches the two people who need to know.

Chapter 11

Help, privacy & housekeeping

Stuck? Tap ‘? Help’

Every screen has a gold ‘? Help’ button in the bottom-right. It opens a plain-English guide to the whole app — the same topics as this manual, always up to date.

Keep it in the room

This plan is confidential. Your initials and the date sit at the bottom of every page, and the app blurs when you switch away — so please don’t screenshot or share anything. It’s for the squad only.

Bottom-of-screen controls

Refresh (bottom-left) force-updates the app to the newest version.
The date stamp in the centre and your initials are a traceable watermark on every page.
Tap your initials badge (top-left) to view or update your own cell number and email.
